VivoPower Partners With Open Innovation AI For Sovereign Data Centers
VivoPower PLC signed an agreement with Open Innovation AI to develop 1 gigawatt of secure sovereign AI data center capacity over three years.
Shares of VivoPower International PLC surged up to 40% on Wednesday after the company signed a heads of agreement with Open Innovation AI to develop secure sovereign AI data centers. The partnership targets the creation of at least 1 gigawatt of capacity over the next three years, aiming for a European sovereign AI market estimated at over 40 gigawatts, with further expansion planned for Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
Under the terms of the agreement, VivoPower will manage site development, power procurement, and facility operations. The UAE-based Open Innovation AI will provide the orchestration, AI operations, and security layers. VivoPower plans to first deploy this software across its existing portfolio and Nordic pipeline, utilizing assets in Norway, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates.
CEO Kevin Chin stated that the partnership enables the company to transition "from powered land to production-ready AI," allowing VivoPower to offer a complete sovereign AI solution.
