Callaway and Good Good Golf Apologize for Violent Ad
Callaway Golf and Good Good Golf removed a promotional video and launched investigations after criticism that the advertisement trivialized violence against women.
Callaway Golf and its media partner, Good Good Golf, apologized and removed a promotional video for the Good Good Quantum driver following widespread criticism that the content trivialized violence against women. The advertisement depicted co-founder Garrett Clark forcefully shoving content creator Alexis Miestowski to the ground as she reached for a driver, while Clark shouted, "Do not touch my new driver."
Callaway CEO Chip Brewer admitted the company approved the video before publication, stating that such approval "should never have happened." Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick explained the scene was intended as a parody of the 2026 film "Obsession," but acknowledged the execution "missed the mark."
In response to the backlash, Callaway launched internal and external investigations. Good Good pledged to donate campaign proceeds to an organization supporting local women. The PGA Tour distanced itself from the content, though it continues to sponsor the upcoming Good Good Championship in Austin, Texas.
