Lebanon Accuses Israel of Building Walls on Its Territory

The government of Lebanon submitted a formal complaint to the United Nations Security Council on November 28, 2025, alleging that Israel violated its sovereignty. The complaint centers on the construction of two T-shaped concrete separation walls located in the southwest and southeast of the southern village of Yaroun, which Lebanon asserts are within its internationally recognized borders.

Evidence provided by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) supports the claim. A geospatial survey conducted in October found that one wall extends beyond the Blue Line, cutting off more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese land. Lebanese officials state these actions breach the November 2024 ceasefire agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Following instructions from President Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UN Security Council and the UN Secretariat to intervene. Lebanon is requesting that the international community force the removal of the structures and ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces south of the Blue Line.
