Sony Launches Midnight Black PS5 Exclusive to Japan

Sony announced a Japan-exclusive Midnight Black PlayStation 5 model featuring an all-black outer casing and a matching DualSense controller. The console is priced at 55,000 yen and is scheduled for release on November 19, with pre-orders beginning October 30 through official PlayStation and online stores.

This hardware revision is restricted to Japanese PlayStation accounts and supports only the Japanese language. While a matching Midnight Black disc drive is available, it must be purchased separately.

Sony introduced the model to stimulate sales and shield the Japanese market from recent price increases that have impacted its hardware business. Despite this new offering, Nintendo continues to dominate the local sales charts.
