Meta Launches Meta AI Mac App with Business Tools

Meta Platforms, Inc. has released a beta version of its Meta AI desktop application for Mac, designed specifically for Apple silicon running macOS 15 or later. The app integrates into the system workflow via a Quick Invoke keyboard shortcut and includes system-wide dictation. A key feature is window sharing, which allows the assistant to read visible text and capture screenshots to provide real-time, context-aware advice, although it cannot directly control the computer.

Alongside the app, Meta expanded AI-powered advertising and analytics tools across its web, mobile, and desktop platforms. Business owners and creators with professional Facebook or Instagram accounts can now connect Meta AI to Ads Manager and account analytics to monitor campaign metrics, audience engagement, and creative fatigue. These tools also integrate with Google Workspace, enabling the AI to generate documents, spreadsheets, and pitch decks based on performance data.

While the service is currently free, Meta is transitioning power users and those requiring higher rate limits to a paid subscription service called Meta One. The rollout follows a similar native app release from Google for its Gemini AI. Meta has cautioned users that its privacy policy allows the company to use AI interactions to train its models.
