Apple Pay VP Jennifer Bailey Retires Amid CEO Transition

Jennifer Bailey is retiring as Apple Pay and Wallet services vice president in October as John Ternus prepares to replace Tim Cook as CEO.

Apple Inc. is undergoing a significant leadership overhaul, including the retirement of Jennifer Bailey, the vice president of Apple Pay and Wallet services. Bailey will leave the company in October after more than two decades of service. Apple services chief Eddy Cue announced the departure in a staff memo, noting that Bailey led the 2014 launch of Apple Pay and oversaw the development of the Apple Card and the Wallet app.

Bailey will remain in an advisory role to support the transition until her departure. Eddy Cue stated that the company will announce a succession plan before the end of October.

This retirement occurs alongside other high-level exits, including the departure of general counsel Kate Adams. Most notably, Tim Cook is stepping down as chief executive officer on September 1. Hardware chief John Ternus will replace Cook as CEO on that date.
