Reliance Industries to Invest ₹10 Lakh Crore in AI Infrastructure

Reliance Industries and Jio will invest ₹10 lakh crore over seven years to build multi-gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres and sovereign AI infrastructure.

Reliance Industries Limited and Jio will invest ₹10 lakh crore over the next seven years to develop sovereign AI infrastructure. The commitment focuses on the construction of multi-gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres, with the deployment of capital beginning in 2026.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani detailed the investment in the Integrated Annual Report 2025-26, following an initial announcement at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in February 2026. Ambani described the expenditure as patient, disciplined, nation-building capital intended to create strategic resilience and durable economic value. He explicitly stated that the move is not a speculative pursuit of valuation.

This initiative marks a new growth phase for the conglomerate, which has evolved from its origins in refining and petrochemicals into a global entity spanning energy, digital services, retail, media, and green technologies.
