Anthropic Targets $2 Trillion IPO Amid Culture Shifts

Anthropic is preparing for a potential initial public offering with a projected valuation of $2 trillion. This valuation would potentially surpass SpaceX and create significant wealth for the company's 2,500 employees.

To ensure financial incentives do not compromise its core objectives, the company has introduced specific culture interview questions for new candidates. Applicants must explain how they would react if Anthropic abandoned its AI ambitions for safety reasons, resulting in the stock price dropping to zero. CEO Dario Amodei has expressed concern that massive financial windfalls could undermine the company's mission-driven culture.

To compete for talent against Meta, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, the company is offering base salaries between $320,000 and $405,000 for software engineering roles. Anthropic currently has more than 500 open positions as it scales its operations.
