Sun Pharma and Strides Pharma Report Q1 Financial Growth

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Strides Pharma Science reported quarterly profit increases driven by growth in India and non-U.S. markets.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries reported a 27% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,894 crore for the first quarter ended June 2026. While the profit figure missed CNBC-TV18 poll estimates of Rs 3,051 crore, revenue grew 10.5% to Rs 15,299 crore. This growth was driven by strong performance in India formulations and global innovative medicines, which offset a 9.7% decline in U.S. formulation sales.

Managing Director Kirti Ganorkar attributed these results to the momentum within the company's innovative medicines business and Indian operations. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries also confirmed that its acquisition of Organon & Co. remains on track for completion in early 2027.

In a separate report, Strides Pharma Science announced a 56.7% increase in profit after tax, reaching Rs 165.5 crore for the quarter. The company's revenue totaled Rs 1,265.4 crore. MD and Group CEO Badree Komandur stated that the results were driven by a 17% growth in markets outside the United States, indicating that strategic investments in non-U.S. regions are yielding results.
