Anthropic Raises $13 Billion to Reach $183 Billion Valuation

Anthropic raised $13 billion in Series F funding to expand enterprise capacity and safety research, nearly tripling its valuation since March 2025.

AI startup Anthropic raised $13 billion in a Series F funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $183 billion. The round was led by ICONIQ Capital, with Fidelity Management & Research Co. and Lightspeed Venture Partners serving as co-leads. Other participants included the Qatar Investment Authority, Blackstone, GIC, and BlackRock.

This valuation represents a sharp increase from the company's March 2025 valuation of $61.5 billion and a rise from approximately $12.5 billion in early 2024. Anthropic intends to use the new capital to expand international operations, deepen safety research, and meet rising enterprise demand. The company currently serves over 300,000 business customers, and its run-rate revenue grew from $1 billion at the start of 2025 to over $5 billion by August.

Recent developments include Anthropic becoming an approved AI vendor for the U.S. government and the release of the Opus 4.1 upgrade for its Claude AI system. The soaring valuation has significantly impacted employee equity. Analysis from Levels.fyi suggests that some senior software engineer equity awards could have grown from $1 million to as much as $23 million on paper, though more conservative estimates accounting for dilution place that growth between $5 million and $10 million.
