Nvidia Raises GPU Memory Kit Prices Amid AI Boom

Reports indicate that Nvidia has informed its add-in-board partners, including Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte, of price increases for GeForce GPU and memory kits utilizing GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory. This development follows price hikes implemented in May for the RTX 5090 and its China-focused variant.

The company attributes these adjustments to a broader RAM crisis and surging demand for advanced memory, driven by the artificial intelligence boom in servers and data centers. Although Nvidia has not made a public announcement, the move is expected to raise production costs for manufacturers, which may lead to higher retail prices for consumers across the RTX 50 series and specific RTX 40-series cards.

Additionally, the high cost of 3GB GDDR7 memory modules has reportedly led Nvidia to place the RTX 50 Super series on hold.
