Kenny Habul Acquires HDT Brand to Relaunch Performance Vehicles

Billionaire Kenny Habul purchased the HDT brand and rare Holden vehicles from Peter Champion to establish a performance car factory in Bathurst, Australia.

Kenny Habul, a solar panel billionaire and car enthusiast, has acquired the HDT brand and a collection of rare Holden vehicles from previous owner Peter Champion. Habul intends to relaunch the brand by establishing a dedicated factory in Bathurst, Australia, which he describes as the spiritual home of HDT.

The new facility will focus on restoring Peter Brock's original HDT road cars and developing performance enhancement kits. Habul's vision includes the production of new HDT Brock Commodores and resto-mod vehicles that combine classic aesthetics with modern running gear and safety systems. He noted that re-imagined HDT machines are already undergoing testing in Australia and Germany.

The acquisition aims to preserve the legacy of Peter Brock, who led the brand from 1980 to 1987. Peter Champion, who owned HDT Special Vehicles for nearly 20 years, stated he felt it was time to move on and sell the brand to someone equally passionate.
