NTT Data Negotiates 6.3 Billion Yen Data Center for Anthropic

NTT Data Group is in final negotiations to construct a data center in Osaka, Japan, for the U.S.-based AI company Anthropic. The project would establish Anthropic's first dedicated data center in Japan, with construction costs potentially reaching 1 trillion yen, or approximately 6.3 billion dollars.

The planned facility would feature a power intake capacity of up to 500 megawatts. The companies expect partial operations to begin as early as 2028 and aim to sign a formal agreement by the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.

NTT Data has declined to comment on the reports.
