Eli Lilly Raises 2026 Revenue Guidance to $87 Billion
Eli Lilly and Company raised its 2026 revenue guidance following strong growth in its weight-loss drug franchise and the expansion of Mounjaro sales in China.
Eli Lilly and Company raised its 2026 revenue guidance to between $85 billion and $87 billion after reporting 47.7% year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter. The company's Q2 revenue reached $22.97 billion, fueled by its weight-loss drug franchise. Mounjaro generated $9.94 billion, with international sales surging 172% after the drug was added to China's National Reimbursement Drug List, while Zepbound contributed $4.93 billion.
CEO David A. Ricks attributed the company's outlook to a strong pipeline, including the global launch of the oral GLP-1 Foundayo and the planned first-quarter 2027 U.S. filing of the triple-acting obesity drug retatrutide. While the company saw a 13% drop in realized prices during the second quarter, 60% volume growth has offset these declines.
Competition remains intense as Novo Nordisk plans to reduce the list price of its rival drug Wegovy by approximately 50% starting January 1, 2027. Despite this pressure, financial analysts from 24/7 Wall St. issued a buy rating with a 12-month price target of $1,478.22, while a broader consensus target price stands at $1,330.14.
