Belgium and Netherlands Ban Imports From Israeli Settlements

The governments of Belgium and the Netherlands have banned the import of products originating from illegal Israeli settlements established on occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. The legislative move targets economic activities linked to settlement policies in the region.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Government of Qatar welcomed the decision. Both entities characterized the bans as a step toward upholding international law and international legitimacy, specifically citing UN Security Council Resolution 2334.

Following the announcement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Government of Qatar called on other nations to adopt similar legislative and practical measures to prohibit trade with Israeli settlements in occupied territories.
