Azerbaijan Cuts Energy Grid Connection Time to 20 Days
Azerbaijan has reduced the timeframe for connecting to the energy grid from 41 to 20 days by streamlining administrative procedures for entrepreneurs.
Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, announced on October 14 that the country has reduced the timeframe for connecting to the energy grid from 41 days to 20 days. Speaking at the 3rd National Competition Forum in Baku, Shahbazov noted that the number of required procedures for connection has dropped from seven to two.
These reforms were achieved through the expansion of electronic services and the implementation of a single-window principle to streamline administrative processes. Shahbazov stated that facilitating access to energy infrastructure is a key priority to reduce the administrative burden on businesses and increase service transparency.
Additionally, the minister highlighted the law On efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency. He noted the legislation is designed to encourage investment in energy-saving technologies and foster new entrepreneurship opportunities in energy auditing and management.
