OPPO announced the global launch of ColorOS 17, an operating system based on Android 17 that introduces a Living Flow Design and deep AI integrations. The update features agentic AI through AI Mind Pilot's Agent Mode, which allows the system to execute multi-step tasks using on-device files, and an AI Photo Agent for image editing via natural language.
Security enhancements include AI Call Guard to identify synthetic voices and face swaps, alongside a Private Computing Cloud utilizing post-quantum security. The company claims the new software reduces rendering workloads by 30% and improves app launch stability by 55%.
As part of a strategic move to streamline development, OnePlus will transition its smartphones in India from OxygenOS to ColorOS, beginning with the OnePlus 15 in the fourth quarter of 2026. The broader rollout of ColorOS 17 starts October 22, 2026, with the OPPO Find X10 series. Phased updates for eligible OPPO, OnePlus, and Realme devices will continue through the first quarter of 2027.
