India and Lesotho Hold 6th Joint Bilateral Commission Meeting
India and Lesotho reviewed development cooperation and capacity building during the 6th Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation session in New Delhi.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho convened the 6th session of the Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation (JBCC) on July 30, 2026, in New Delhi. Co-chaired by Janesh Kain and Thabang Lekhela, the meeting focused on reviewing development cooperation, capacity building, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR).
Both nations advanced several proposed Memoranda of Understanding for early signature and reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable development through South-South cooperation. During the session, India invited Lesotho to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. The delegations also discussed coordination efforts within the United Nations and other international forums.
The two countries agreed to hold the 7th session of the JBCC in Maseru, Lesotho, on dates to be determined.
