Hyundai Announces New Performance Tier and India Model Updates

Hyundai Motor Company plans to launch a mid-tier performance car line and next-generation Creta and i10 models in India by 2030.

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled a series of strategic expansions during its 2026 CEO Investor Day, focusing on performance diversification and market growth in India. The automaker will introduce a new high-volume performance car tier by 2030, positioned between the aesthetic-focused N Line trims and the track-oriented N models. These mid-tier vehicles will utilize powertrains and hardware from full N cars but will be optimized for daily on-road use at a lower price point.

As part of its broader performance strategy, the company plans to launch a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive N car and an entry-level full-N SUV by 2030. Hyundai aims to scale its annual N brand sales to 100,000 units by 2030, a significant increase from the 20,000 units sold in 2025.

In the Indian market, the company will launch next-generation versions of the Creta midsize SUV and the i10 hatchback before 2030. Both models are expected to arrive in late 2027. The next-gen Creta will likely move to the K3 platform with a boxier design and the Pleos Connect infotainment interface, potentially adding a strong-hybrid powertrain. The i10 will undergo a thorough redesign and possible platform change while keeping its 1.2-litre engine options to maintain competitiveness in the small-car segment.
