CPSC Mandates Recall of 11,000 HAIARA Power Banks
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission mandated the recall of 11,000 HAIARA W5 PRO power banks due to fire and burn hazards.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has mandated the recall of approximately 11,000 HAIARA W5 PRO power banks sold on Amazon between May 2025 and September 2026. The devices, sold by Mitrytech, a trade name for Huizhou Yancheng Trading Co., Ltd., contain lithium batteries that can overheat and combust, posing significant fire and burn hazards.
The recall specifically targets black units marked 20W on the front and Model: W5 PRO on the side that lack a YYYYMMDD date code. Mitrytech reported at least 600 incidents involving the devices, including nine cases of property damage and three burn injuries.
Affected consumers are urged to stop using the power banks immediately. To receive a full refund, users must contact Mitrytech and provide a photo of the device with the word "recalled" written on it in permanent marker. Additionally, consumers must confirm the device was disposed of through a hazardous waste program or an electronics recycling center.
