Russian Strikes Kill 12 Across Ukraine in Two-Day Attacks

The Russian Armed Forces launched a series of aerial and missile strikes across Ukraine between September 23 and 24, 2026, resulting in at least 12 deaths. On September 23, four aerial bombs struck the settlement of Oleksandrivka in the Donetsk region, killing four people and injuring four others, including a child. The attack destroyed an apartment building and damaged dozens of private homes and a kindergarten, leaving up to eight people trapped under rubble.

Overnight strikes on September 24 expanded the casualties. In the Kharkiv region, a strike on a farm in Stara Hnylytsia killed six people and injured 12. In Kyiv, strikes on warehouses in the Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts killed two people and injured eight. Additional strikes in the Odesa region ignited fires at a residential building and a shopping center.

The Russian Defence Ministry stated it targeted telecommunications, logistics, and drone production facilities. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force claimed to have intercepted seven missiles and 220 of 282 Russian drones. Ukraine also launched drone strikes into Russian territory, which caused a fire in the Krasnodar region, though no casualties were reported there. Both nations maintain they target only military facilities despite the documented damage to civilian infrastructure.
