The Israel Police arrested between eight and nine protesters on Saturday night during demonstrations on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv. Authorities declared the protest unlawful, citing a lack of coordination with security forces and the disruption of public order through the blocking of roadways.
The arrests occurred amid broader national rallies directed at the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. Demonstrators demanded a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre and equality in war burdens, while left-wing activists protested settler violence in the West Bank.
These events took place three days before a scheduled hearing at the Supreme Court of Israel regarding petitions against a law that freezes the arrests of draft evaders.
