Ontario Schedules Extensive Highway Closures Across Peel Region

The Province of Ontario coordinated a series of extensive road maintenance projects across the Peel region during late July 2026. On July 22, the province scheduled 35 closures on provincial highways, including lane restrictions on Highway 401, Highway 403, Highway 410, Highway 9, Highway 10, and the Queen Elizabeth Way. These works impacted the cities of Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, and Oakville, with many occurring as nightly or continuous blocks. On that same day, High Street East in Strathroy was closed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for sanitary sewer maintenance.

The scale of roadwork increased by July 24, with 42 scheduled closures affecting provincial highways in Peel. These restrictions continued to impact Highway 401, Highway 403, Highway 410, Highway 9, Highway 10, and the Queen Elizabeth Way, specifically within Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. The province utilized alternating and specific lane closures to facilitate improvements, with some restrictions scheduled to extend into late July and early August.
