Micron Market Cap Surpasses Seven Major Consumer Brands

Micron Technology reached a $1.17 trillion market capitalization amid record AI-driven profits, sparking a public dispute between investor Michael Burry and Jim Cramer.

Micron Technology reached a market capitalization of approximately $1.17 trillion as of October 8, 2026, surpassing the combined $1.104 trillion valuation of Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, McDonald's, Disney, Starbucks, Nike, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. The company reported a fiscal 2026 annual profit of $84.97 billion, nearly 1.7 times the collective earnings of those seven consumer brands, driven by high demand for AI memory such as HBM and DDR5.

Financial results for the fiscal fourth quarter showed record revenue of $54.2 billion, a 379% year-over-year increase, and a non-GAAP gross margin of 87.0%. Management provided positive guidance for fiscal 2027, forecasting $61.5 billion in revenue and predicting that memory supply and demand conditions will tighten further through 2028. Micron has already locked in 75% of its 2027 output through strategic agreements.

Despite this growth, the company's stock remains volatile. Investor Michael Burry shifted his bearish bet against the company from an outright short position to put options expiring in June 2027 with strike prices around $500, citing his belief that the artificial intelligence market is a bubble. Financial commentator Jim Cramer countered this position, warning that investors betting against the company are "digging their own grave" by ignoring Micron's secular AI-driven transformation.
