Indian Diplomat Highlights Operation Sindoor at Japan Defence Institute

Indian Charge d'Affaires R Madhu Sudan showcased India's military superiority from Operation Sindoor during a visit to Japan's National Institute of Defence Studies.

On May 11, 2026, R Madhu Sudan, Charge d'Affaires at the Indian Embassy in Japan, visited the National Institute of Defence Studies (NIDS) in Tokyo to address senior officials from Japan's Ministry of Defence and Self-Defence Forces. Sudan presented India's strategic outlook and emphasized the military superiority demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, a focused military action launched by Indian armed forces in May 2025 targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. That operation followed the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.

Sudan and NIDS President Imakyurei Manabu held discussions on strengthening bilateral ties through expanded defence exchanges and technology collaboration. The two sides also explored alignment between India's Vision Mahasagar and Japan's Free and Open Indo-Pacific vision, signaling continued convergence in their strategic frameworks for the region.
