Trinity Metals Pursues New York Stock Exchange IPO

Trinity Metals is seeking a New York listing to fund the modernization of its Rwandan tungsten mines amid rising global prices.

Trinity Metals, a Rwandan tungsten producer, is pursuing an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange to finance the expansion of its mining operations. CEO Peter Geleta stated the company is consulting with advisers and investors regarding the listing and preliminary fundraising efforts.

The company intends to modernize its Nyakabingo, Rutongo, and Musha mines over the next five years. Initial plans include the construction of a processing plant and tailings facility at the Nyakabingo site, with estimated costs between $60 million and $80 million. To support these goals, Trinity Metals is also seeking an equity investment of $35 million to $50 million from the US International Development Finance Corporation.

This strategic move follows a significant increase in tungsten prices, which have risen more than eightfold over two years. The price surge is attributed to tighter global supplies and export controls implemented by China.
