Norway Leads Ukrainian Military Training at Camp Jomsborg

Norway is leading Operation Legio, a military training initiative for Ukrainian soldiers based at Camp Jomsborg in eastern Poland. Located approximately two hours from the Ukrainian border, the camp provides a secure environment on NATO soil that protects troops from Russian missile and drone attacks while maintaining close proximity to the conflict zone.

This strategic location allows for a rapid feedback loop between front-line commanders and instructors, ensuring that training environments and curricula, including trench networks, are updated to reflect evolving battlefield realities. The site in Poland also enables the use of electronic warfare systems and drones that are subject to stricter regulations in other Western European nations.
