Binghamton Diesel Prices Hit Record $6.58 Per Gallon

Diesel fuel prices in the Binghamton market reached an all-time record high on September 28, 2026. According to a report from AAA, the average price in the region climbed to $6.58 per gallon, marking a $2.65 increase over the previous year. Local pricing varied by station, with the TA Travel Center in Kirkwood recording a credit price of $6.91 per gallon.

Regular gasoline prices in the area also increased to an average of $4.49 per gallon, up $1.33 from one year ago. These price surges mirror broader trends in the region, with some areas in Pennsylvania reporting diesel prices exceeding $7 per gallon.

In response to the costs, some truckers are supporting a strike scheduled for October 1. However, some independent operators have expressed concern that the strike may primarily harm smaller drivers, while larger companies continue to benefit from fleet discounts.
