Insta360 Launches X6 Action Camera with 8K Video
Insta360 released the X6 flagship 360-degree action camera featuring 8K video recording, dual Sony sensors, and AI-driven editing tools.
Insta360 released the X6 flagship 360-degree action camera on August 12, 2026. The device introduces several hardware upgrades over the previous X5 model, including dual custom 1/1.1-inch Sony sensors, a Qualcomm 4nm 8-core processor, and a 2.3-inch OLED touchscreen. These specifications enable 8K video recording at up to 50 fps, 120-megapixel still images, and Dolby Vision HDR support.
The X6 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor and includes 47GB of internal storage and a 2600 mAh battery. It is waterproof up to 65.6 feet and features user-replaceable lenses. On the software side, the company introduced InstaFrame 2.0 for real-time face tracking and AI Director for automated video generation.
Pricing for the base model starts at $670, with a comprehensive bundle available for $800. Early reviews highlight the camera's versatility and improved low-light performance, though some critics argue the device is an incremental update and note that editing 8K footage requires high-end hardware.
