Goodwin PLC Profits Surge 118% on Global Defense Demand

Goodwin PLC reported record annual trading profits of £77.5 million and announced an 18% dividend increase driven by UK and US naval spending.

Goodwin PLC reported record annual trading profits of £77.5 million for the year ending April 30, 2026, marking a 118% increase from the previous year's £35.5 million. Revenue grew 27% to £280 million, fueled by a global rise in military spending and strong demand for precision-machined castings used in nuclear applications and United Kingdom and United States Navy frigate and submarine programmes.

In response to the financial gains, the company proposed increasing its ordinary dividend by 18% to 330p per share. Following the announcement, shares on the London Stock Exchange surged 13.2% to 20,600p in early trading.

The company is also executing a plan to sell a substantial portion of its Mechanical Engineering division.
