Xoriant CEO Identifies Human Agency Gap in Enterprise AI

Rohit Kedia argues that enterprise AI projects fail without a human anchor to define intent and judge outcomes as AI capabilities advance.

The CEO of Xoriant, Rohit Kedia, asserts that a human agency gap is the primary reason many enterprise AI projects fail to deliver meaningful business outcomes. Kedia argues that because AI systems are probabilistic rather than deterministic, they require a human anchor to prevent drift and ensure accuracy.

Kedia proposes a framework where human agency shifts from executing tasks to defining intent and judging outcomes as AI maturity increases. He notes that while the models themselves keep getting better, the value companies actually derive barely moves.

To illustrate this shift, Kedia cites a project with a Fortune 100 bank where agentic AI automated cross-document reconciliation for regulatory reporting. This implementation allowed 1,100 analysts to move from data checking to interpreting risk posture. Kedia concludes that competitive advantage will belong to organizations that deliberately identify and protect the specific areas where human judgment creates the most value.
