Saudi Arabia Coordinates with Pakistan and Egypt on Red Sea Security

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud conducted a series of diplomatic phone calls on July 25, 2026, to coordinate regional stability and safeguard international shipping lanes in the Gulf and the Red Sea. These discussions occurred as the Houthi militia in Yemen launched coordinated missile and drone attacks against Saudi energy facilities in the Jizan and Yanbu regions, retaliating for coalition airstrikes in Hodeidah.

In a call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, the two officials urged an immediate cessation of military operations and emphasized that diplomatic solutions are the only viable way to resolve the crisis. This occurred as airstrikes targeted Houthi rocket launch platforms and weapons depots in the Marib and al-Jawf provinces of Yemen.

Simultaneously, Prince Faisal coordinated with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to reduce regional tensions and protect vital maritime routes. The conversation took place shortly after Dar returned to Islamabad from meetings in the Philippines and the Kyrgyz Republic. Together, the officials emphasized the need for comprehensive peaceful solutions to maintain international stability and prevent further escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
