Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills Two at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Management at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant reported a Ukrainian drone strike killed two people, including a female employee, on Tuesday.

Management at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant reported that a Ukrainian drone strike killed two people in a car on Tuesday, including a female employee of the station. The plant's administration characterized the attack on civilian vehicles as "targeted terrorism," noting that this employee is the third person killed in the last two weeks and the 13th since April.

Ukraine has not commented on the incident. The facility, Europe's largest nuclear plant, has been under Russian control since the start of the invasion in February 2022. The International Atomic Energy Agency recently confirmed the death of another employee last week, while the head of Rosatom previously stated in July that the plant's chief engineer was killed by a Ukrainian drone.
