GE Aerospace Invests $225 Million in New York Research Center

GE Aerospace is investing $225 million to modernize its research center in Niskayuna, New York. The funding allocates approximately two-thirds toward infrastructure improvements, with the remaining balance dedicated to advanced research equipment and technology.

The project is supported by $8.4 million in tax credits from Empire State Development and $5.3 million in local incentives from the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority. The investment is expected to generate 75 new full-time positions in research, engineering, and trade over the next five years.

The facility will focus on jet engine research and development for both commercial and military aviation. This includes projects for the Department of Energy and Department of War, as well as a partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to improve air and space travel.
