The campaign has triggered significant online backlash, including a Facebook group with over 40,000 members and widespread discussions on TikTok and Reddit.

Liberty Mutual Insurance faced criticism from protest organizer Connor Harvey, who characterized the mascot as intentional ragebait. Despite the public outcry, Chief Marketing Officer Jenna Lebel stated the company is encouraged by the strong engagement. Lebel noted that independent testing shows the mascot performs above average on brand attribution and attention.

Marketing experts suggest the negative reception may actually benefit the brand by creating a crossover with Gen Z consumers through faux outrage.
