Chief Minister Sukhu Disburses Rs 20.61 Crore in Welfare Funds
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu distributed over Rs 20.61 crore in financial assistance to nearly 5,000 beneficiaries during Independence Day celebrations in Barsar.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, disbursed more than Rs 20.61 crore in financial assistance to 4,967 beneficiaries during a state-level Independence Day function in Barsar. The funds were distributed through the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to support initiatives including education, medical care, maternity assistance, marriage, house construction, and support for mentally disabled individuals.
During the event, the Chief Minister honored Dr. Rajendra Kanwar, a retired Senior Medical Officer who donated property valued at over Rs 80 crore to the Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College and Hospital in Hamirpur.
The celebrations also included the recognition of freedom fighters' families, the awarding of participants from the Independence Day parade and cultural programs, and the launch of a song titled 'Wo Ruka Nahi'.
