Georgia Early In-Person Voting Breaks All Previous Records

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced that over 2 million Georgians voted early in person, a 22 percent increase over 2022 midterm levels.

More than 2 million Georgians cast in-person early ballots for the 2026 midterm election as of Tuesday afternoon, breaking previous turnout records. Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia Secretary of State, announced that 2,000,452 people voted in person, marking a 22 percent increase over the 1,640,652 early in-person votes recorded during the same period in the 2022 midterms.

In addition to the in-person surge, election officials have accepted 97,382 absentee ballots. Total statewide turnout currently stands at 28 percent with seven days remaining until Election Day on November 3.

Raffensperger attributed the record numbers to voter trust in the election process and the performance of county election directors. He stated that Georgia voters deserve the highest praise and that county directors are delivering a free, fair, and fast election to every corner of the state.
