M.K. Stalin Accuses Chief Minister Vijay of Governance Failure

DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized Chief Minister Vijay for deteriorating law and order and condemned the arrest of a former minister as politically motivated.

DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a sharp critique of the Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister Vijay, describing the state as "Wild Wild Tamil Nadu." Stalin alleged that murders, robberies, sexual assaults, and missing children cases have increased unprecedentedly over the last two months, while illegal drug trafficking remains uncontrolled.

Stalin accused the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government of prioritizing the Chief Minister's official residence and convoy over substantial governance during Vijay's first six months in office. He contrasted Vijay's cinematic persona as a "gun-wielding hero" with his performance as a "helpless hero" in administration, referencing Vijay's own previous question about whether the country was a "jungle."

The political tension escalated when the government arrested Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, a former minister in Stalin's cabinet. Stalin condemned the arrest, asserting that the ruling government foisted false charges against Poyyamozhi for political motives. He claimed the TVK was using the arrest to distract the public from administrative corruption and the failing law and order situation, though he stated that Poyyamozhi would face the legal charges.
