Russia Launches Open Your Russia 2.0 Program in New Delhi

Russian officials launched the Open Your Russia 2.0 program in New Delhi to increase Indian tourism in regional cities and attract Indian hospitality investments.

Russian tourism representatives launched the Open Your Russia 2.0 program in New Delhi to expand travel exchanges between the two nations. Hosted by the Russian Cultural Centre, the initiative seeks to encourage Indian tourists to visit regions beyond Moscow and St. Petersburg, specifically highlighting Kazan, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Siberia, and the Russian Far East.

Alexander Sitnikov, representing the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, reported that mutual tourist traffic reached 143,000 trips last year, with 65,000 trips recorded in the first half of 2026. He noted a surging demand among Russian travelers for wellness journeys in Kerala and the Golden Triangle route. As part of the economic expansion, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development invited Indian hospitality brands to invest in the Russian hotel sector.

To facilitate these goals, the Center for Strategic Research organized B2B events to help Russian regions tailor their offerings to Indian preferences. The program was implemented by the Center for Strategic Research with support from the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
