Israel Debuts National Pavilion at Marrakech Air Show 2026
Israel opened its first national pavilion at the Marrakech Air Show to showcase combat-proven defense technologies and expand security cooperation with Morocco.
The Ministry of Defense of Israel established its first national pavilion at the Marrakech Air Show 2026, held from October 7 to 10 at the Royal Moroccan Air Force base. This marks the first official Israeli participation in a Moroccan defense exhibition since the signing of the Abraham Accords. Coordinated by the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT), the delegation included eight defense companies, such as Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
Exhibitors showcased combat-proven technologies, including AI-powered robotics, loitering munitions, and autonomous navigation for unmanned aircraft. The participation aligns with a broader strategy to expand international security cooperation and exports, particularly as Israel faces restrictions at some European defense exhibitions. This engagement follows a 2021 bilateral defense memorandum and a joint military work plan for 2026.
Beyond equipment sales, Israeli executives sought deeper industrial integration. Representatives from Orbit Communication Systems expressed interest in establishing local manufacturing and joint development partnerships to support Morocco's transition from aerospace assembly to advanced engineering. This defense cooperation occurs alongside upgraded diplomatic ties, including the establishment of embassies and Morocco's pledge to send troops to Gaza as part of a US-backed International Stabilization Force.
