The agent can independently browse the web, send emails, and make purchases, leading investors to fear that autonomous AI will disintermediate traditional firms by automatically optimizing bank fees, re-shopping insurance policies, and canceling unused subscriptions.

Market volatility intensified between September 22 and 24, 2026, as traders priced in an uncertainty discount for firms relying on customer inertia. Shares of LPL Financial, Charles Schwab, and Ameriprise Financial declined, while major banks including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo saw pressure on their stock prices. Analysts from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. noted that agentic AI models, including Muse and Instinct AI, threaten the ability of firms to monetize consumers and generate leads.
