Harmonic Security Raises $50 Million to Monitor AI Agents
Harmonic Security raised $50 million in Series B funding to expand its real-time AI risk monitoring platform across the US and UK.
Harmonic Security raised $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Crosspoint Capital Partners to accelerate the expansion of its AI security platform. The San Francisco and London-based firm now has $76 million in total capital following a $17.5 million Series A round led by Next47 in October 2024.
The company utilizes proprietary small language models (SLMs) to monitor interactions between employees and AI agents in real-time. This technology allows organizations to detect data risks and quantify the business value of AI adoption. CEO Alastair Paterson noted that these SLMs can respond in 23 milliseconds, providing a faster and more cost-effective alternative to general-purpose frontier models.
Harmonic Security will use the new capital to scale engineering, sales, and marketing efforts in the United States and United Kingdom. The company is specifically expanding its capabilities to track AI agents that operate on behalf of employees to ensure security does not hinder productivity.
