Berkshire Hathaway Invests $136 Million in Lennar Corp
Berkshire Hathaway acquired $136.38 million in Lennar Corp shares following the homebuilder's failure to meet third-quarter earnings and revenue expectations.
Berkshire Hathaway Inc. purchased approximately $136.38 million in Lennar Corp common stock between September 23 and September 25, 2026. The conglomerate acquired both Class A and Class B shares at prices between $79.42 and $81.65 per share.
Following these transactions, Berkshire Hathaway indirectly beneficially owns 25,378,134 Class A shares and 548,892 Class B shares. This investment maintains the conglomerate's position as a 10% owner and director of the homebuilder.
The acquisition comes as Lennar struggles with housing sector headwinds. The company recently reported fiscal third-quarter results that missed Wall Street expectations, posting adjusted earnings of $1.23 per share against an anticipated $1.29 and revenue of $8.05 billion against a forecasted $8.31 billion. Lennar management attributed the shortfall to affordability concerns and high mortgage rates.
