Apollo Global Management Launches Daily Private Credit Valuations
Apollo Global Management is implementing daily pricing for its $850 billion private credit portfolio to increase transparency and liquidity in the private debt market.
Apollo Global Management is implementing a system to provide daily valuations and pricing for its $850 billion private credit portfolio. The investment firm aims to increase transparency and liquidity in the private debt market, which it estimates could see $100 trillion in potential issuance over the next decade.
This initiative follows a warning from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission regarding poor valuation practices caused by a lack of market data. Apollo leadership argues that liquidity is a virtue and that the market is already accustomed to pricing instruments by proxy.
Simultaneously, the firm is expanding its market-making business, trading over $35 billion in volumes with 160 counterparties. This growth coincides with increased demand for structured financing from large companies for capital-intensive projects, including digital infrastructure and AI chip procurement.
