The Federal Government of the United States and the Government of Iran reached a high-level agreement following the Lake Lucerne Summit in Emmen, Switzerland, on June 22, 2026. According to reports, the deal establishes a tactical pause in military hostilities, which officials say will allow for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ease pressure on global energy markets.
