Vietnam Automobile Sales Hit Record 387,849 Units in 2026
Vietnam recorded record automobile sales of 387,849 units through July 2026, driven largely by a surge in VinFast vehicle deliveries.
VinFast LLC drove a record-breaking surge in Vietnam's automobile market, contributing to a total of 387,849 units sold during the first seven months of 2026. This figure represents a 28.6 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
VinFast sold 137,697 vehicles, marking a 74.2 percent year-on-year increase. Other significant contributors to the total included importers and members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association, who combined for 221,540 sales, and the Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Auto Joint Venture Joint Stock Company, which recorded 28,612 units.
The market experienced a recovery in July, with sales rising nearly 12 percent from June. This growth marks the first positive trend for the industry since March 2026.
