Georgia Governor Race Dead Heat After $150 Million Spend

Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms and Republican Rick Jackson remain tied in Georgia's gubernatorial race following a massive fundraising cycle.

The Georgia gubernatorial race is a dead heat less than 24 hours before Election Day. A final survey of 2,500 likely voters by InsiderAdvantage shows Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms leading Republican Rick Jackson by only 0.03%, with Bottoms at 49.03% and Jackson at 49%. Polling from the AJC similarly indicates the race is tied, with 2% of voters remaining undecided.

Between August 1 and early November, the candidates raised more than $150 million. Jackson raised at least $120 million, the majority of which came from his own personal wealth, including $88 million for the general election and over $100 million for the primary. Bottoms raised more than $30 million, drawing from a larger base of small donors, including 74,000 contributions of $10 or less. Both candidates used leadership committees to bypass standard donor limits, receiving millions from the Democratic and Republican Governors Associations respectively.

In their final campaign pushes, Bottoms visited Dalton, Crawfordville, Athens, and Augusta, while Jackson traveled from the north to the south of the state. In a concurrent Senate race, incumbent Senator Jon Ossoff holds a lead over Mike Collins, polling at 53% to 46%.
