Romania US Exports Reach 6.4 Billion Dollars in 2025

The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania reported that Romanian exports of goods and services to the United States reached 6.4 billion dollars in 2025. This growth was driven by a historic high in service exports, which exceeded 4 billion dollars, with IT and communications services contributing 2.4 billion dollars. During the same period, imports from the United States totaled approximately 3 billion dollars.

United States investment in Romania remains significant, with a foreign direct investment stock exceeding 9 billion dollars. The U.S. is currently Romania's largest investor from outside the European Union, with capital concentrated in energy, defense, advanced manufacturing, business services, and technology.

Despite these figures, AmCham Romania President Vlad Boeriu warned that domestic political tensions and a lack of business predictability have created investor caution. He stated that the country can no longer rely on low costs or geography to attract capital. To secure high-value investments, Boeriu emphasized the need for structural reforms, a strong rule of law, and improved infrastructure.
