India Rescues Five Seafarers After Tanker Attack in Hormuz
The Ministry of External Affairs of India confirmed the rescue of five Indian nationals after a projectile struck the MT Kazimah III in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India confirmed the rescue of five Indian nationals from the Kuwait-flagged tanker MT Kazimah III after the vessel was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. The Embassy of India in Oman coordinated the operation, and Omani authorities assisted in shifting the seafarers safely ashore.
This incident follows a pattern of violence against commercial shipping in the region. Last month, the vessel MV Cape Dao was attacked off the east coast of Oman, resulting in the death of one Indian seafarer and the rescue of 19 others.
The Indian government condemned the continuing attacks on civilian infrastructure and commercial vessels. Officials called for dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate regional tensions and restore free navigation through international waterways.
