Democratic National Committee Raises $10.25 Million in September
The Democratic National Committee raised $10.25 million from small-dollar donors in September, outpacing fundraising totals from previous midterm cycles.
The Democratic National Committee raised $10.25 million from small-dollar grassroots donors in September, according to data shared with The Associated Press. This total represents a late surge for the party ahead of the November 3 midterm elections and exceeds fundraising totals from September in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 midterm cycles.
The September haul is $3.5 million higher than in 2018, $1.6 million more than in 2022, and $3.4 million more than in 2014. Approximately 20% of the donors in September contributed for the first time. DNC Chair Ken Martin characterized the fundraising as a sign that the party is on a winning path.
These gains follow a period of fundraising struggles and debt during the second term of President Donald Trump, during which the party lagged behind Republicans. To address supporter fatigue, the DNC has reduced the volume of its solicitation emails.
